## Executive Summary
The Philadelphia Eagles have named Joe Milton as their starting quarterback for the Week 9 matchup against the New York Giants.

## Intelligence Brief
The Philadelphia Eagles are implementing a change at the quarterback position for their Week 9 game against the New York Giants. This decision results in Tanner McKee being moved to the bench. The transition comes during a period where the Eagles are described by ESPN as slumping. Bleacher Report notes that this personnel shift is occurring amidst the absence of Jalen Hurts, who has been missing from the lineup. Coverage of the move is widespread across major sports and news outlets. Yahoo Sports highlights that the Eagles are utilizing a quarterback they previously poached from the Cowboys.

The New York Times and PhillyVoice both confirm that Joe Milton is the new starter while Tanner McKee moves to the bench. NFL Network and NBC Sports have also confirmed the starting designation for Week 9. Additionally, Inquirer.com and Delawareonline.com report on the Eagles' decision to change their signal-caller specifically for the Giants matchup, with Yahoo Sports adding that this will mark Milton's first career start. Context provided by the coverage indicates a complex situation at the quarterback position for the Philadelphia franchise. While Jalen Hurts is currently absent, the team had been relying on Tanner McKee as the replacement before this latest shift. Yahoo Sports suggests that Joe Milton was a player that Giants fans had wanted when Jaxson Dart was injured, adding a layer of regional interest to the Week 9 game.

The decision to turn to Milton reflects the team's struggle to find stability during their current slump, leading them to move away from McKee in favor of the former Cowboys player. Moving forward, observers will monitor the performance of Joe Milton during his first career professional start. The immediate focus is the Week 9 game against the New York Giants to see if the change in leadership can reverse the Eagles' slumping trend. Because the coverage establishes that Milton replaces both the benched Tanner McKee and the absent Jalen Hurts, the outcome of this game will likely determine the team's strategy for the quarterback role in subsequent weeks. The team's reliance on a player acquired from the Cowboys remains a central point of the narrative as they face the Giants.
